Shkëlqim is the Founder and CEO of Housing Connector. In his role, Shkëlqim oversees the strategic direction of the organization and champions solutions that build bridges between the private, public, and nonprofit sectors to solve our housing crisis. Shkëlqim has a background in economics and worked with the Seattle Housing Authority and the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas prior to launching Housing Connector.

Shkëlqim immigrated to the United States as a refugee following the Kosovo War. His experience growing up in a society torn by war fuels his personal and professional commitment to serving his community.

Currently, Shkëlqim serves on the Board of United Way of King County and the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and has Chaired the Seattle Human Rights Commission. Before moving to Seattle, he served on the City of Dallas Economic Development Commission and was the founder of the Young Albanian Professionals network. Shkëlqim is a member of the Leadership Tomorrow Class of 2018 and the recipient of the 2020 Puget Sound Innovator of the Year award. Shkëlqim is a member of the Harvard Business School Young American Leaders Program and a graduate of Southern Methodist University. 

Shkëlqim lives in Seattle, WA with his wife, son, and their goldendoodle, and loves the outdoors. In the summers you can find him camping and hiking, while in the winters he is on the slopes skiing.
