2023 MILESTONES
DALLAS, TX LAUNCH
We expanded to Dallas, Texas in May of 2023. We partnered with over 120 properties, 29 nonprofit referral and case management partners, and housed 92 residents in our first year.
5,000 RESIDENTS HOUSED
This June we housed our 5,000th resident. 1,471 new residents were housed in 2022 and 1,864 new residents in 2023. That’s a 27% year over year increase!
PORTLAND, OR LAUNCH
In Q4 of 2023, we expanded to Portland, Oregon. At year’s end we had 14 properties offering reduced-screened homes in Oregon and 1,130 residential units.
4TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY
Housing Connector launched in Seattle through a collaboration among civic leaders, service providers, and Zillow Group in Fall, 2019. Our team has grown from 1 to 28 in 4 years.
TECH FOR GOOD
NEW CUSTOMER SUPPORT SITE
We launched a new support site to ensure that information and answers to common questions are readily accessible. There are over 50 articles with more added each quarter.
STREAMLINED ENROLLMENT
We restructured our resident enrollment process which captures move-ins and program entry. This increased usage, and improved our data collection quality.
REDESIGNED FORMS & PAGES
Improving user experience is a major priority for our product team. We redesigned our email templates and introduced new webforms to amplify response rate.
FUTURE LAUNCH: CENTRAL HUB
In Q1 of 2024, we will be launching a web portal that helps organize case manager data. This allows for transparency and collaboration for efficient problem-solving.

SHARED BARRIERS
Housing Connector diminishes common screening barriers that prevent people from housing application approval. We partner with properties to adjust screening criteria for broader access which increases housing inventory for those who need it. In return, they receive stability case management including emergency rental assistance for their residents, and direct referrals to fill empty units.

A SCALABLE SOLUTION

"I wanted to say how thankful I am for Housing Connector and all the programs out there. I am a living example of how your program has helped make an impact in the lives of people. Because of your program and the help with my rent, I don't feel depressed anymore. I got laid off of my job and in between finding another, I fell behind on my rent. I felt so depressed and scared because I didn't want to get evicted, I didn't know what I would do. My case manager helped me do a job search and I got another job. I am just so grateful, God has been working in my life. Thank you for programs like yours because without this help, I don't know what I would do. Please tell all your co-workers thank you for all y'all do. Please do not give up cause there are people like me who need you. You are out here making a difference."

“Housing Connecter's support doesn't end simply at acquiring housing for their clients; they stand not only behind their client but also the housing provider. This approach ensures success on all sides. And I can tell you that not only is this remarkable, it is quite rare. So many housing agencies (for whatever reason) end their support as soon as housing is secured, and leave the client and the housing provider on their own without any support if lease violations arise, or if the manager notices the tenant might be experiencing a hardship and needs assistance.”

Jamie S, Property Manager, Milestone Properties

"I hope you still remember us. You guys helped us (me and my two kids) find housing about a year ago, which we did. As I was working and started making payments for the unit, the pandemic hit and I went out of work. We were recently told by the Landlord that you helped us twice to pay our rent. The good thing is fortunately I have got a regular job with King County. So I can take care of the full payment again. We are so grateful for your help!”
Seattle, Washington Family
“We had a community partner reach out to us who had a refugee family of 9 who was in high need of housing. The two parent family was working day and night, opposite schedules, so they could take turns being with the children. This family had been turned down a few times from housing due to no rental history and no credit due to not being in the states for very long. We knew that they would be a great ideal candidate for Housing Connector. We were able to get them enrolled very quickly and were able to locate an apartment that was big enough to fit the family of 9. With the collaboration of Housing Connector, Vision House, and World Relief we were able to get this family’s permanent housing secured and get them finally all under a roof, comfortably. Without the reduced barriers eliminating credit and housing history, it wouldn’t have been possible.”

To deliver simple and scalable solutions - until every person has a home

MISSION
Inspire property managers to take bold action and house people in need of a home

BELIEF STATEMENT

A CULTURE FOR INNOVATION
"We at Housing Connector are unapologetic about our efforts to end the cycle of homelessness and poverty, and do so with a model focused on efficiency, scale, and a bias for action. Why? Because the issues facing our community demand tangible actions and results not words, and, our low-income neighbors deserve effective, user focused solutions that drive impact TODAY."
Shkëlqim Kelmendi, Executive Director
"The Housing Stability Team is dedicated to supporting case managers to overcome barriers and ensure stable housing for individuals in need. Beyond placement and stability, we actively collaborate with property owners to address and resolve potential issues, contributing to the overall well-being of both residents and the community. Through our work, I am proud to be part of a solution that creates a sense of security, dignity, and community for those who have faced housing challenges, ultimately building stronger, more resilient communities."
Ana Nau, Program Manager - Stability Support
"At Housing Connector, our team harmonizes passion and expertise to curate positive impacts in the cities we serve. It's a joy to help people access their home through partnerships with housing providers and local organizations. My favorite aspect is the two year journey we take with each household and supporting them through multiple seasons.”
